Author Interview: J. Meyers

J. meyers grew up in Vermont and now lives in Central New York. When she’s not reading or writing, she’s chasing her four kids around, exploring the outdoors with them, relishing the few quiet moments she gets with her husband, baking sweet treats, and forgetting to make dinner. Though she cannot actually see the future nor heal with a touch of her hand, she likes to think her children believe she can. Intangible is her first novel.

So... J. was so kind to let me interview her(If you think I didn't freak out then you're wrong) and she's one of the most sporting person that I've ever interviewed! I hope you enjoy the interview! :D

FN: Let's start by telling us a little something about yourself that you want readers(and fans) to know.

JM:
I make the best chocolate chips cookies EVER. Also? I love creating imaginary worlds. Actually, I love creating almost anything. I've always been that way--I've worked as an actor, singer and portrait artist. I bake, sew knit. I like to make things. I'm a creator.

FN: What inspired you to write Intangible?

JM:
I had this idea for a girl who could heal with a touch of her hand and it just. wouldn't. let. go. So I had to write it even though I had no time to write a book. (I have four kids and we homeschool. No time!)

FN: Which character in Intangible that you like to write the most? And why?

JM:
I don't know! :-) They were each such interesting characters and fun in their own ways. I loved stepping into their skin in each chapter to see the world through their eyes, feel their emotions, understand their needs, wants and fears. And I really enjoyed changing point of view throughout to get a more well rounded story--to see everyone's side of it and understand more fully who they are and why they make the choices they make.

FN: What is your most rewarding experience since being published?

JM:
Connecting with people from all over the world. I've loved getting to know people I never would have met otherwise.

FN: What is the one advice you'd give to an aspiring author?

JM:
Read! Keep reading. Read everything you can get your hands on in the genre you want to write in. And then write the book you want to read.

FN: What book(s) are currently your obsession?

JM:
I love the Dreammark series by Laini Taylor and Chime by Frannie Billingsley. I will spend the rest of my life trying to write a book as beautifully as they do.

FN: What do you do when you're not writing?

JM:
I love to read, bake, make things and I spend most of my time with my four fabulous kids. They're the most amazing people I know, and I feel so lucky to be a part of their lives.

FN: Name the three things you can't leave your house without.

JM:
Sunglasses, a sweater, and snacks (for the kids).

FN: Is there anything about you that would surprise readers?

JM:
I hated writing when I was in high school and college. I NEVER thought I'd turn out to be a writer :-)

FN: What are the songs behind Intangible?

JM:
Jonas & Ezekial by the Indigo Girls
Hallelujah as sung by KD Lang
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2
(It's a short list I know. Probably because I can't listen to music when I'm writing, only when I'm thinking.) ;)

And now for some fun! This or That?:

1. Ebooks or Paperback? PAPER!!!

2. Burger King or McDonald? Neither. (I'm vegetarian.)

3. One Direction or Backstreet Boys? Jason Mraz.
4. Night or Day? Night (for the quiet) (I may have mentioned the four kids)
5. Pen or Pencil? Pen

- Goodreads.com description

J. Meyers sent me an e-copy of Intangible(and yes, I did freak out;)). I didn't know what did I expect when I started reading this book but one thing I know for sure, was that I never expected it to be THIS GREAT! Seriously!

One has the power to See and one has the power to Heal. It's a little bit of Alice Cullen and Lissa Dragomir but I LOVE it! Luke and Sera back each other up like brothers and sisters. One holds them up when the other was down. Twins power people! Yeah! :)

I was sucked into the book from the beginning of the page. J Meyers definitely knows how to attract reader's attention from the beginning. You have to give her credit for that ;)

And what's a book without some romance in it? Marc was the new guy in town but the chemistry between Marc and Sera was definitely undeniable. But Marc also faces problems of his own that could break them apart and that is something he really doesn't want to happen.

This book is filled with actions, suspense, chemistry and family ties. Fans of paranormal will definitely eat this up! :D

P/S: If you'd like to read the companion book, Intuition. It's free on SmashwordsAmazon and Barnes & Noble :D

P/P/S: There's an author interview right around later. You can come back again and check! :D
