Waiting On Last Summer by Rebecca A. Rogers

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly post hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine to shine a spotlight on upcoming books and I'm eagerly participating!

By Rebecca A. Rogers
Expected Publication: 20th July, 2012

All Chloe wants to do is get through the summer with her parents. Her life has been in disarray for more than six months, and she knows the only reason her parents made one final trip to Sandy Shores is because of her. They are, after all, two seconds away from filing for divorce. When Chloe stumbles upon a boy in one of her childhood hangouts, she’s in for more than just a relaxing summer vacation.

Logan is exhausted, famished and, quite frankly, kaput. His parents kicked him out when he refused to attend a rehabilitation program for his drug addiction. Now, he wishes he would’ve listened; he’d be receiving appropriate medical care rather than living in a dingy, godforsaken shack, holing up from money-hungry drug dealers.

Logan’s godsend arrives in the form of Chloe, who can’t hold her tongue when it comes to matters of the heart. They’re both in for a rude awakening when Logan’s past catches up to them, though. Can they escape the drug dealers showing up at every twist and turn, or will things end much worse than they ever imagined?

Warning: contains strong language and drug use. Mature audiences only. 17+

- Goodreads.com description

July can't come any sooner. This one sounds like the typical troubled characters that I love to read. A book that can make me laugh, swoon and cry all the way through the book. Plus, I totally heart the cover :D

I'm excited over Last Summer. What are the books that you can't wait to get your hands on?

Author Interview: Shannon Greenland

You name it. Shannon Greenland's done it. Hiking, rafting, swimming, snorkelling, surfing, mountain biking, spelunking, canoeing, power lifting, running, camping, para sailing ... well, you get the drift. She's traveled the world extensively and is thrilled to be living in northern Virginia, looking for her new adventure. Believe it or not, Shannon dreaded reading and writing when she was a kid. How ironic that she's now an award winning author.

Shannon Greenland, author of The Summer My Life Began [review here], was kind enough to have an interview. Check out the interview below :D

Fara: How long does it takes for you to write a book?

Shannon: Typically a year to plot, rough draft, and final.

Fara: What is your most rewarding experience since being published?

Shannon: Getting fan mail, most definitely!

Fara: What's one advice you'd give to an aspiring author?

Shannon: Write, write, write. And join writing clubs/organizations--it's what I did and really fine turned my craft.

Fara: Who are your favourite authors of all times?

Shannon: Are you kidding me? I can't possibly list them all. I read so many different genres and have so many fav authors--it's crazy!

Fara: What book(s) is currently your obsession?

Shannon: I just downloaded The Hunger Games on my Kindle and am totally absorbed with it.

Fara: Do you ever experience writer's block? What do you do when it happens?

Shannon: Sometimes... I usually go for a walk or a bike ride and noodle things through.

Fara: What do you do when you're not writing?

Shannon: Tons! Read, hike, swim, bike, run, travel. I'm always busy.

Fara: Is there anything about you that would surprise readers?

Shannon: I

Fara: What are the 3 things you can't leave your house without?

Shannon: Keys, cell phone, chapstick.

Fara: What are the songs behind The Summer My Life Began?

Shannon: Anything by the Beach Boys, of course.

Top Ten Books I'd Like To See Made Into A Movie

I’m participating again in Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Basically every Tuesday the peeps over at The Broke and the Bookish post their top ten lists on various topics. They even have a special Top Ten Tuesday page where they have previous topics and upcoming topics discussed as well.

I mix this list with Contemporary, Paranormal and Dystopian. This list starts in no particular order(well... maybe a little bit;)):

1. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Warning. Hotness Overloaded. Alien invasion alert. Daemon Invasion people!!! Bad boys overtaking the world *sigh**faint*
Oh yeah. Totally right about that. And I can't believe they're engaged! Here's the interview of Pepe Toth and Sztella Tziotziosz interview on Jennifer L. Armentrout's blog.

2. Heist Society by Ally Carter

Thieves! I never knew I'd side on them. There's rumors about Drew Barrymore will be the director of Heist Society. But... it may just be rumors. She'll make a perfect director for Heist Society though ;) My review here.

3. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

Are you kidding me?! Of course I want to see more of Will :) And to be broken-hearted by the story all over again ;)

4. Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway

Audrey is as music obsesses as I am. We get along together :D Plus, I'd like to see how the Do Gooders perform and how the song Audrey, Wait! really goes like ;) My review here.

5. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White

Evie is just one quirky really girly girl. She rocks the book until the end! I want to 'see' her in real life ;)

6. Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles

Ok. By now, I think you guys get the idea how I'm such a sucker for bad boys. Total swoon. And that's also the case with Alex. Plus, Brittany is definitely a girl you could relate to. My review on it here.

7. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

It's my friend's fault  that she dragged me in the Vampire Academy world. I should have gone with my instinct and still won't go read the book for its cover. I blame her for why I want it turned into a movie so bad ;)

8. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

This one will be a real tear-jerker. I blame Anna from Anna Reads for my start reading of John Green. Starting the year with a book that's going to make you flood a river was never fun. But it was worth it because this is one of the most real books that we rarely find and it totally hits bulls-eye. If this book is ever going to be made into a movie, I'll better have a full box of Kleenex tissue next to me ;)

9. Divergent by Veronica Roth

I chose this under obvious reasons that I don't have to explain to anyone who has read this book and totally LOVE it :D

10. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

This too, will be a tear-jerker. But maybe it will knock some sense out of people. I know it sure did it to me.

So what books do you want to see made into a movie? You could leave your link below and I'll try to share some love :D
