The Sweetest Thing by Christina Mandelski Review

The Sweetest Thing
By Christina Mandelski
Egmont USA, 352 pages
10th May, 2011

In the world of Sheridan Wells, life is perfect when she’s decorating a cake. Unfortunately, everything else is a complete mess: her mom ran off years ago, her dad is more interested in his restaurant, and the idea of a boyfriend is laughable.
But Sheridan is convinced finding her mom will solve all her problems—only her dad’s about to get a cooking show in New York, which means her dream of a perfect family will be dashed.

Using just the right amount of romance, family drama, and cute boys,The Sweetest Thing will entice fans with its perfect mixture of girl-friendly ingredients.

- Goodreads.com description

Sheridan loves to bake. But when her dad got his own TV show, she doesn't want to leave town. Especially her mom. But that's the thing. Her mother had already left.

I guess you could relate to Sheridan in some ways. The way she wouldn't let go of her mom. She yearned the warmth of her mom. And her dad's always busy, especially since he have his own TV show. She craved for attention and cakes were there along the way. Here was when we could see how naive and innocent she really is.

I like her best friends. They're so supportive of her no matter how much bitchy and a whiner she could be. I don't like that Sheridan pushes them away too much. I love drama in books. But when it's too much, I just go ....-.-....

I don't know. Maybe it was me and not the book. Although I didn't love it, but I did like it. It was a really nice read. You should give it a go. Especially if you like cakes ;)
