Lola and the Boy Next Door
By Stephanie Perkins
Dutton, 338 pages
Sept. 29, 2011
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit -- more sparkly, more fun, more wild -- the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.
When Cricket -- a gifted inventor -- steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

Honestly, after reading this book I was like, went to school the next day, saw my friend Eddy and yelled: "I'm in love with Cricket Bell!". And then I started rambling about how good this book is and almost ended up telling her the whole book! As a punishment, I got ignored the whole day. But honestly, I think she's only jealous because I got to read it first before her. Hah! Take that Eddy:P
Anyways, once I got my hands on it, I read the first few chapters lazily but ended up sleeping at 4 in the MORNING just to finish it! It's just really that cool! Not to mention Lola Nolan's extreme dressing style.
Thank God I have a blog to blabber on. Most of my friends won't read a book unless it's on actual paper. And man, did I hurt my eyes for staring at the screen for so long just to finish this book.
So you guys. If you found this book on a bookstore shelf, DON'T hesitate. Grab it like that's the last book on the shelf.
